Construction work on track and field improvements at our five high schools will be staggered to minimize disruption to athletics, activities, and physical education classes. Planning is underway to coordinate places for students to practice and play while this work is completed.

CEQA / EIR Process

The District has contracted with
David J. Powers and Associates, Inc.
to prepare an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Monta Vista High School Track and Fields project.

NOTICE: It is extremely important that we
   hear all neighbors' concerns. The District
   has extended the official period to input
   comments on the Notice of Preparation
   by an additional two weeks through
   November 13, 2009.

Construction of the new baseball and softball fields and renovation of the football field/bleachers at Monta Vista High School is targeted to begin early summer 2010 subject to completion of the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and design approval from the Department of State Architects (DSA).
